Henry Landmans Lederhose
Mit diesem Kleidungsstück ist eine besondere Geschichte verbunden: Henry Landman trug diese Lederhose als er aus Deutschland fliehen musste, heute gehört sie einem Augsburger Museum.
Rick Landman, Henrys Sohn, schreibt uns:
„I came across a photo of my dad from before he donated the lederhosen to the Augsburg Museum. Of course, one miracle is that they still fit him. This is the lederhosen that he wore on Kristallnacht. One story that you may not know is that his gold ring was clipped off his finger at Dachau and it popped into the air and he thought it was lost.
But actually it fell into the cuff of the lederhosen that he brought to America. So without him knowing it, he smuggled out a gold ring to America. He could have been shot for doing that.
I wish I can find the cut ring, but it is lost. Henry hid it years ago, and then lost his memory as to where he hid it.
He found it when we were packing up the lederhosen to send to Augsburg.
Just wanted to give you a bit more of the history of the pants.“
